New Spring Location! ♨️🌸
New Season, New Location, Same TYDE HAUS
We’ve relocated to a sunnier corner of Bayley Beach for the spring, and we’ll be there through May 18th.
The light is better. The view is wider. And the water, closer.
Come and enjoy our sanctuary of heat at our new home on Bayley Beach in Rowayton ↓
What Spring Asks of Us 🌸
There is a particular kind of tired that winter leaves behind.
When we sit in the heat, the fatigue begins to move. Circulation lifts and blood reaches the surface of the skin and the body. The sweat is different from the sweat of effort. It is the sweat of release. Shedding byproducts of a long winter, carried in the body and mind.
Every spring, we are offered an invitation: to come back to ourselves.
Bathing in heat is the best way to accept it.
The Spring Protocol ♨️
Arrive: Drink a few sips of water before you enter. Leave the phone in your bag. Place your towel on the bench and begin.
Round 1: 15 mins dry (no water on the stones). Upper or lower bench, the focus is duration rather than intensity. Allow the body to calibrate. Enjoy the peace.
Break: Step out of the hot room and into the cool spring air, plunge if you feel like it. Take the full 3 - 5 minutes to lower the skin temperature.
Round 2: The body knows what's coming and is no longer cautious. Add some water to the stones. Sweat comes faster and carries more. Breathe slowly, close the eyes and listen to the calm.
Break: Contrast is where the benefits compound. With core temperature elevated this pause is particularly important.
Round 3: This is when the adaptations progress. Focus on completing the practice prioritizing duration rather than intensity.
Finish: Bask in the warmth of the afterglow. Towel off and dress. Rehydrate.
*Hot and cold is personal. Listen to your body and go at your own pace.
